Steal a police car and any time you are in trouble press LB while your car is stationary. Select "Call For Backup" and within minutes you will have to cruisers full of police who will fight on your side unless you shoot someone.

In order to call a taxi, position Niko near traffic, preferably somewhere on the sidewalk. Spot a cab and press LB. Niko will automatically call out for a taxi. It is also possible to order a taxi with the cell phone if you have problems spotting one. Additionally, Niko can eventually earn the ability to call a limo as you progress in the game.

If the vehicle you are driving breaks down and the engine will not start, call 911, and your engine should start again.

Go to an ATM, then cause a traffic jam to the area. Wait for someone to take money from the ATM, then kill him or her. Make sure to block any nearby roads so the ambulance cannot get to the murdered victim. Take the money they dropped on the ground. Then, run a short distance away, and go back. The money should have respawned on the ground. You can repeat this as many times as desired. You can also kill more people taking their money from the ATM to increase the amount of money that respawns.

When running away from the cops, you will have a circular area in which they look for you. However, if you get out and another cop sees you, it changes. To use this to your advantage, get barely out of that circle which you will see on your radar. Just sit there for about five seconds instead of flooring past it.

It is sometimes difficult to get headshots, which do count in this game. With some practice, the following is an easy way to always get them. Press [Auto-Aim] then use the Right Analog-stick to move the auto-aim target around your victim's body. Barely move the Right Analog-stick as you are shooting. This puts bullets in the chest and head, and results in an easy instant kill.

After acquiring the phone from Playboy X, go to the nearest Internet cafe. Buy all of the ringtones and themes from the ringtones site. Log out of the computer and you will notice that you only paid $100 for all ringtones and themes.

You must first be able to travel to Happiness Island. Find the Helicopter Tours directly east of Happiness Island. Steal a helicopter and fly to Happiness Island. Hover over the Statue Of Happiness and jump out of the helicopter at the statue's feet. Try to land on the topmost tier of the statue, which is a square platform with a door in the center of each side. Run around the platform until you see a door with a plaque that reads "No Hidden Content Here". Walk through that door to enter an empty room with a high ladder. Climb it and look up at the top to find the statue's gigantic beating heart, held in place by chains.

After completing all of the missions in Broker (first island) and move on into Bohan, go to the Helicopter tours which is in the southern part of the island on a platform facing Broker. Hijack one of the choppers and take it to your apartment, try to land it on the parking area and if you do, save the game inside your apartment and you will now have a Helicopter for you to mess around with. Useful to get away from cops or to pick up friends or girlfriends quicker, only problem is landing.

Dwayne - Dwayne likes to go to strip clubs, eat, drink, go to shows and bowl. If you get his friendship level up to 60%, you can call Dwayne and he'll send you a car full of gang members that will follow you and help you out as you need them.

Little Jacob - Little Jacob likes to play darts, go to shows, play billiards, drink, eat, and go to strip clubs. If you get his friendship level up to 60%, you can call Little Jacob and he'll drive a car to your location full of guns that you can purchase from him.

Packie - Packie likes to go to strip clubs and shows, play darts, drink, bowl and play billiards. If you get his friendship level up to 75%, you can call Packie and he'll make you a potent car bomb that you can use as you need it.

Roman - Roman likes to go bowling, play darts, go drinking, eat, play billiards, go to shows and to strip clubs. If you get his friendship level up to 60%, you can call Roman and he'll send you a free cab to use anywhere in the city.

Go to the north part of the map, just northwest of Butterfly Street in Bohan. Once there, get down to the outskirts of the land and walk towards the corner between the brick wall and the cliff. You can walk through the invisible wall. Lookup towards the city to see the city from below. You can also continue onwards and swim under the city.

When walking or running up stairs, jump at the first step to skip or sometimes launch yourself up the stairs.

You can date people from the in-game Internet. When looking at their profile click "Date". You then have to wait a few in-game days for a negative or positive reply via email. If your date accepts, reply to their email and meet them.

Dial ZIT-555-0100 on your cellphone to get a text message listing the title and artist of the music currently playing.

Take note of phone numbers on graffiti or ads on buildings on in the subway. Call those numbers on Niko's cellphone to make a prank phone call.

Go to the strip club and reserve a lap dance. After the performance is done she will ask if you want another, accept twice and she will bring in another girl into the room for a duet.

Certain vehicles have funny notes on their license plates cover or broder. For instance the "Ruiner" 1980's Camaro clone has the saying "Ruining Imports Since '67".

There is a secret Happiness Island shirt laying at the highest point on the statue's base that can be reached by foot. It looks like a glowing red rectangle. Once it is picked up Niko will automatically put it on. It is a navy blue sweatshirt. The front shows the statue and reads "Happiness is..." and is continued on the back with the word "...land".

As you are going up the stairs to chase Clarence, you will see a green health kit. Do not take it. Continue after Clarence and follow the advice of McCleary about not using your weapon until you are on the second floor; otherwise, Clarence will just get into a vehicle and leave. If you wait until you are on the second floor, he will climb to the roof. After you have chosen the Clarence's fate, you automatically have a three star wanted level regardless of what you selected. You must battle your way out. Because you are going down, you have a distinct disadvantage in cover and will take lots of damage. To give yourself an edge, at the start of the mission park a fast car on the street near the opening in the gate. Do not pull up to the gate. Use the stairs to your right to give chase. Once you have gotten to the roof and chosen his fate, descend to the level with the first aid kit (green box). Because you left it there on your way up, you will know what level you are on and can power up. Go to the side of the building where your car is parked and jump over the railing. Upon landing, you will not lose much health. Sprint to your car and get away from the cops. If done correctly, you should not take a single bullet from police. The health pack is a requirement to survive the fall.

At the bottom area of Broker is a beach. Continue to the edge nearest to Algonquin to see a pedestrian practicing karate.

When inside a Mr. Tasty Ice Cream truck, one of the the songs the truck plays is called the GTA Theme, in a cycle order it is usually played after Flight of the Bumblebee. While playing the song, call ZiT, and a text message will confirm telling you the name of the song. As soon as the message is answered, a Cheat Activated confirmation will appear, and the cheat will appear in the Cheat section in your phone.

Do a burnout with a car and spin in circles arter a while the tires will pop.

Go inside the statue of happiness go to the platform under the heart and fire an rpg at the heart and you will get a pidgeon.

There is a guy in firefly island. He randomly gives you $100! on the map it shows a blue man silhouette. He is on Iroquois Avenue.

When you come to the option of killing Dwayne or Playboy. Kill Playboy, you get to be friends with dwayne more and you get Playboys Crib ( big plasma screen, hot tub, big double bed ) its pretty good.

Date SOBOHOE on LoveMeet which can be accessed on any in-game computer. If she says yes, date her until you get lucky. The day after, she will call you and tell you that whenever you need health, all you need to do is call her, seeing she is a nurse, and your health will increase.

To easily get a car with a police computer within it, call 911 on your cell phone and select 1, shortly after the operator picks up. It will put you through to the LCPD. Wait until the conversation ends and wait. Police will arrive shortly. The police officer riding as the passenger will get out to inspect the area. While this is happening, pull the driver from the police car and take off. Taking them by surprise will allow you enough time to escape the wanted circle before back-up arrives.

Another easy way to gain access to a car with a police computer is to spawn an FIB Buffalo which is activated by dialing 227-555-0100 into your in-game cell phone. Getting a police car this way will allow you to access a computer without raising your wanted level.

This cheat works great if you're working towards your Most Wanted and Small Crimes award.

Use the Wanted Level Up Cheat to raise your wanted level to 6 stars. The drive into the subway {Not the subway terminal} in a small car. Press the Xbox Menu Button And leave it there for About six minutes to be sure. No Cops will come after you because you are in the subway and because the Xbox Menu is up the trains will not move. When you start to drive off the achievement will appear.

Go into somewhere like MCnuggets and go into the womans bathroom. Make sure before this you have a wanted level of at least three and a gun, so go in the bathroom and funnel off the cops and S.W.A.T. team while blowing them away, when they stop coming for a second run and grab all the ammo and repeat.

Normally, Niko cannot kill his dates, but only "scare" them. When on a date with a girlfriend or boyfriend, have them follow you to any coastline. Swim out into the middle of the ocean. A few yards in the water, Niko's date will instantly die. Note: This glitches the game. If Kate gets killed, her telephone will always be busy when called. Niko will also receive date invitations from dead people labeled as "Unknown Caller".

Use the following trick if you get a vehicle you really like and you do not want to risk losing it in an accident or want one for every safe house. Once you unlock access to Algonquin, take your car and drive over to your South Bohan safehouse. From there, drive east to the Northwood Heights bridge that leads into Algonquin. Once there, turn around and drive back over the Northwood Heights bridge. After you get across, turn right onto San Quentin Ave., in Fortside. As soon as you make the turn, you should notice quite a few cars identical to the one that you are driving, just in more colors. To save them, just alternate between cars every block until you get to your South Bohan safehouse to store one and drive the other one where ever desired.

Use the following trick to make any vehicle immune to rockets, grenades, and other weapons. Take out a girlfriend on a date. Get in your car and shoot through your window to do a drive-by to scare her. A short intermission sequence will show your date leaving. Your vehicle is now immune to damage.

Use the following trick to regain health during a mission. Leave the mission area and go to a Cluckin' Bell, hotdog stand, etc, and eat food to replenish your health if you are low and cannot find a health pack. This works effectively on missions where there Are no health packs in sight. Note: You can also take a taxi to those locations during missions.

If you are trying to run with a rocket launcher compared to a pistol, chances are the pistol will result in faster movement. If you are trying to run away from anything, try to run with the lightest weapon (or no weapon) if possible.

The volume of the radio stations in the options menu also controls how loud the music is inside strip clubs. You can turn it all the way down to make a club completely silent and watch the ladies dance to nothing.

This can only be done with the fixed camera views that are attached to a vehicle. Change the view to the desired cinematic view. Click the Right Analog-stick and move it Down while still clicked. Release the Right Analog-stick while in the Down + Click position. The view will not change while you remain in cinematic view. The view will also remain locked when you return to it, unless you exit your vehicle or the camera becomes blocked.

Occasionally after your character dies, during the death animation you can cause your currently equipped weapon to fire off. Where it shoots is completely random, and is based upon the direction the gun is pointing as you fall. This effect is most notable if you have a rocket launcher or assault rifle equipped, and you have a greater chance of it happening if your death animation lasts longer (such as from being blown up and flying through the air due to a grenade or other explosive). While you do not get any benefits from this happening, it is satisfying to sometimes kill your attacker after you die. Note: This also works the other way. Sometimes NPCs will shoot you after Niko kills them. It is somewhat rare, but it can happen.

If you're going for achievements, this one is one that you need to get through the first playthrough. Why? Because you'll have to restart the whole story if you don't get it through the first time. Basically, you have to beat the game in less than 30 hours. Easy, but you don't want to take a chance. Basically just stick to the main story.

You can walk through the toll booth on the bridges instead of paying $5 or ramming through the barricade and not receive a wanted level at all.

For some missions you'll need to find a cop car, or you might just want a Cop Car, Ambulance or Fire Engine for fun.

If there are none around (especially with the Ambulance and Fire Engine) you can call 911 and select either Police, Fire Department or Paramedics. Wait for them to arrive and hijack their vehicle.

Find a spot where there are alot of cars and equip a grenade. Hold the fire button as if you were about to drop it on the ground below and start running into the traffic. The grenade will start bleeping and then get prepared for a big explosion. And to die.

If you're playing the game without cheats remember this:

Always go to a gun shop and buy the latest shotgun with alot of ammo, the latest sub-machine gun (eg.Uzi) with alot of ammo and the latest assault rifle with alot of ammo.

You'll pick up most of the ammo for the Sub-machine gun and pistol on missions.

Always buy armor from there aswell, and visit a hot-dog stand or a fast-food retaurant to fill up on health before starting the next mission.

Money will not be a problem, especially after the bank robbery, "Four Leaf Clover"

Most channels on the television in your safe house have a few funny channels like what looks like a Halo spoof, a funny 'Men's Room', etc.

Equip a grenade, then hold RT until the grenade explodes. You will fly into the air...it is really cool.

In GTA IV, some vehicles found on the streets have noticeable bodykits and alterations to their normal models. Here is a list.

Sultan RS- Found in the top right corner of Westdyke, Alderney. A heavily modified Sultan.

Sultan GT- Found driving around Alderney when you are driving a normal Sultan. It has a blue paintjob, spoiler, gold rims and ventilated hood.

Irish Contender - Found in Steinway when you are driving a normal Contender. Has a green paintjob and chrome roll bar on the back.

Presidente V10 - Found driving around Alderney when you are driving a normal Presidente. Has a black-green paintjob and a modified chrome grill. Also faster.

Luxury PMP 600 - Found driving around Little Italy and Westdyke when you are in a normal PMP 600. Has a black-green paintjob, small spoiler and modified grill. It also appears to be slimmer.

Sentinel XS - Found driving around Westdyke when you are driving a normal Sentinel. Has a reasonably big spoiler, black-green paintjob and shutters on the rear window.

Mafia Schafter - Found driving around Hove Beach and Firefly Island when you are in a normal Schafter. Has a matte black paintjob and matte black rims, as well as a small bodykit.

Mafia Rebla - Found driving around Hove Beach all the time no matter what. It is hard to notice, but it has a unique black paintjob and small bodykit.

Feroci VIP - Found driving around Chinatown when you are in a normal Feroci. Has a dark red paintjob and a MASSIVE bodykit.

Intruder VIP - Found driving around Chinatown when you are in a normal Intruder. It has a dark red paintjob and also, a MASSIVE bodykit. It has something hanging off the rearview mirror as well. Very rare.

Declasse Feltzer - This is just a small variation of the Feltzer, but is worth including. Some Feltzers, if you pay attention, will have different front bumpers than others. There will be a stock bumper, and then one with a modified bumper.

Futo GT - Found driving around the top-right hand side of Bohan when you are in a normal Futo, and strangely, a Faggio as well. It has a carbon fibre hood, small carbon fibre spoiler and a red paintjob.

Blista Compact Street Edition - Found driving around when you are in a normal Blista Compact. It has a closed Sunroof, hood scoop and a small spoiler. Hard to spot.

Spanish Lords Cavalcade - Found driving around Bohan and some parts of North Holland when you are in a normal Cavalcade. It has gold rims, gold trim and grill, red paintjob and subwoofers in the back.

First get a pistol or steal a cop car for a free shot gun.
Head to the Hospital located on the first island in Schottler (it's directly northeast from the first gun store you unlock) Enter the hospital and start a killing spree.

Wait in the main waiting room for the cops to arrive and just start popping heads as they enter. (Crouch behind the green couches for cover) After you have a significant meat pile of dead pigs, run up and collect your wonderful bounty of guns. Run back to your previous cover area and repeat.

Once your wanted level is high enough you'll start getting swat teams with M16's and MP5's.

There is a health pack at the front door, and a soda machine in the waiting room for you to replenish health. If the cops finally kill you, who cares, you keep all the guns you collected.

First, you'll have to have access to Happiness Island. Once you're able to go there legally, find the Helicopter Tours (which is directly east of Happiness Island) and steal a helicopter. Fly to Happiness Island and over the Statue of Liberty, then jump out of the helicopter at the statue's feet. You should land on the topmost tier of the statue, which is basically a square platform with a door in the center of each side. Run around the platform until you see a door with a plaque on either side of it that reads, "No Hidden Content Here." It may seem like you cannot go through the door, but you can-- it doesn't open, you simply walk THROUGH the door. Inside, you'll find an empty room with a tall ladder. Climb it, and when you reach the top, look up; there is a gigantic beating heart, held in place by chains.

On the in game internet there is a website called area 59 which was the name of a show on WCTR radio station.

On the tv the poker championship there are screenshots of Las Venturas, Prickle Pine (houses) and part of the desert by the old airport.

Press the fire button while driving around in a firetruck. This will allow you to shoot the super-powerful water cannon at everybody around you. Watch the different and oftentimes funny civilian's reactions.

Reach the part of the game where Niko and Roman have a safehouse in South Bohan. In the house on the left of the table near the television is a pile of books. The middle purple book of a stack of three is titled "Madness & Blasphemy: The Do's and Dont's". This is an reference to the movie 300 where in the "This is Sparta!" scene, the lines "This is blasphemy! This is madness!" are spoken.

Play Packie's mission "Three Leaf Clover". While Michael is watching the hostages, one of the men on the floor turns to a man next to him and lets him know that he is a member of a gun club and when the time is right they will fight back. When Michael is distracted, the man stands up, shoots Michael, then in turn is killed by Packie and his brother. This is a reference to the bank heist in the movie Point Break.

In the first mission, when you give Roman a ride to a betting shop, on the other side of the road that is a shop called "Mr. Wong's", which is reference to Mr. Wong in Grand Theft Auto 3. Also, there are Furgons in the city.

Some of the ringtones you can choose for the more "modern" phones are actually songs from Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

After you kill the drug dealers in the "Shadow" mission for Little Jacob, leave the room and go back the way you came. On the wall just before you go down the stairs you will see graffiti which has the name of every previous Grand Theft Auto protagonist on the wall; Claude from Grand Theft Auto 3, Tommy from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Carl from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Tony Cipriani from Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, and Victor Vance from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. The text says things like "Victor - never forget you / always remember you bro", "RIP Claude", "RIP Toni", "remember Tommy - u r still my hero", "Carl I love you RIP everyone miss you", "RIP Vic".

Near Faustin's house is a reference to a legendary musical note. If you are in the area, proceed to the dead end about a block away towards the water. Hop over the fence on your left while facing the water and a man should be sitting on a bench reading a book titled "The Brown Note". Musician's joke that this is a note that when played causes bowel movements by the person playing it.

During the intermission sequence for the "I'll Get Her" mission, look closely behind Gerry Mcreary. There is a whiteboard for shift changes for the prison guards. Some of their names are Phil McCrevis (feel my crevice) and Richard Head (dick head).

There is a reference to the movie, "The Sixth Sense," after you kill someone, there's a chance a civilian will say, "I see dead people!"

The numbers on blue armored prison transport truck are KSC-303, which is a reference to the main character of the Japanese film Versus, who is known as Prisoner KSC2-303.

At the majestic hotel in Multiplayer, go to the top via chopper and you will find a penthouse. Go with a friend. Sometimes a mist will appear in the room, fires will start, explosions will go off and the doors, leading into the hallways, which are unable to be opened in Multiplayer, slam open and you can enter the hallways. Pillows will fall off the couches and pots will move. Very rarely, which happened to my friend, an apparition of a man in a tuxedo, will appear in the corner near the doors leading to the hallways and then go through the wall as if he is a ghost. It is possibly the man you kill in the mission involving the Majestic Hotel.

This isn't fake, as it happened to me and my friend. It has shocked us both and the rumor about a "ghost" in GTA IV may just be true.

Go to the subway in Chinatown, if you start shooting at people or police officers, sometimes a Chinese man wearing a brown jacket will pull out a pistol and start shooting back at you. The cops will not shoot at him as if he is also a law enforcer.
