For Speed Challenge it can be tricky, my first car to enter it was my Nissan Gt-R, against Nate Denver's 65' Pontiac GTO and Ryo's Mitsubishi Evo, i did not have a hope in hell, but i used a Lamborghini LP640 still, i beat the speed king but again no chance against Ryo Watanabe's 751Bhp Mitsubishi Evo, but never fear choose any car for speed challenge and wait at the line Ryo is guaranteed 9/10 he will TOTAL himself, trust me i used that trick, when the race starts just hang around the start for a bit let Ryo go 180+ Mph and total himself, then make your way to the finish line. or if your the cocky type try and catch up to Ryo, and spin him into the rocky mountainside to total him.

No offence but u dont need to spend soo much on a drag car a 240sx is more than quick enough on stage4 parts to take down the drag king an use a muscle car sumtin cheap like the charger RT @ stage 4.

If your playing in a speed challenge, i would recomend a easy challenge nothing big like ryo something believe me i tried doing this before and i lost. First get the the end of the track and stop before you hit the finish(try not to total yourself) then turn around and go in reverse through the finish line and the driver will keep trying to go backward through the map, even if he crashes, but if he crashes into something that will turn him around then he will start driving the correct way.

The best grip car is the Mitsubishi Evo, if you enter the master code UNLOCKALLTHINGS you get a Mitsibishi Evo if you modify it to all stage 4 parts it is actuly faster then Ryo's Evo his Evo has the quick upgrade stage 3 parts so this hint is helpful against the showdown that you go against Ryo, so have fun flying by Ryo in Grip mode.
